Item condition and armor
Condition can change an item’s applicable effectiveness. Do not apply a generic condition percentage to every field: storage size, ammo capacity, and item footprint are separate properties.
For equipment with wear conditions, Intact has no loss, Dirty has 10% loss, Worn has 15% loss, and Broken has 50% loss. Food and medical items have their own allowed condition sets.
Armor protection remains constant at every nonzero durability level. At zero durability it becomes Broken and provides no protection. The durability labels are Intact at 70% or more, Worn from 30% to below 70%, and Critical below 30% but above zero.
A helmet protects the head and body armor protects the torso. Listed protection is a base fraction; penetration and the combat damage calculation still apply. Cosmetic equipment without a protection value should not be treated as ballistic armor.
